Anarchist Book Fair

On Sunday, November 3rd, an anarchist book fair will take place at the Centro Sociale from 1 PM to 5 PM as part of the re:FUSE congress. Info shops, small publishers, and other political groups will showcase brochures, literature, and more. If you are interested in registering a booth, please write to us at:

On the Current Situation in Israel & Palestine

To begin with, it should be said that we ourselves are a heterogeneous group made up of many groups and individuals. We, as the organizing circle of the re:fuse Congress, do not have the capacity to discuss the current situation in Palestine and Israel in all its complexities and reach a consensus. This is not our aim as an organizing group of the Congress. Our goal is to strengthen commonalities and the ability to endure contradictions. It is more important for us to stay in communication and continue to work and argue together on an equal footing. Therefore, we want to focus on concrete collaboration with comrades and allies on the ground: forging new bonds, promoting and intensifying them, in order to ultimately gain effectiveness.

More
We are aware of how much potential the current situation and discussion hold for spreading racist, anti-Semitic, and anti-Muslim sentiments. Where people are dehumanized, there lie our red lines. We naturally condemn Hamas and its accomplices. We naturally condemn Israel's warfare. Our solidarity goes out to the civilian victims on both sides of the borders, and to those who oppose their respective regimes. And of course, we also condemn any form of state sycophancy.

However, we are also aware of the significance and magnitude of this decades-long violence in Israel and Palestine, with its many and diverse affected individuals. Our hope and wish for the Congress is that we manage to overcome the inhibiting inertia that has been placed over the discussion of this topic in our political work. Here, our top priority, alongside resistance against war and nationalism, should be the attempt at empathy and the protection of marginalized groups.

While the inner-left discourse is important, we find the way it is conducted to be inhibiting and thus harmful to our political work. In addition to the aforementioned reasons, we also lack the capacity to ensure a nuanced elaboration. Therefore, we have decided not to address the situation in Israel and Palestine as a whole. However, there will be panels that will engage with specific topics in this regard. We would wish for discussions to take place within these frameworks and for these panels not to be used as representatives of a much larger thematic complex. It would probably be sensible to organize a separate anarchist congress solely on this topic. We would be very pleased with any efforts in this direction.

Therefore, we have decided to focus our attention on concrete themes within our action spaces. This does not mean that we want to avoid engaging with the current events, but rather that we consider this a topic among many. It also means that we do not see the framework and space to address the entire situation in Palestine & Israel. But we also ask you to respect our thematic priorities and engage in solidarity with one another.

Long live anarchy!

Demo on Thursday, 31.10.2024

On the first day of the congress, there will be a demo. Here is the call from Instagram:

31.10. - 6 PM - Spritzenplatz

Halloween is just around the corner, and once again a day that FLINTA people experience differently than endo cis men. Not only are sexualized images of femininity propagated, but FLINTA people are subjected to patriarchal violence just like on any other day of the year. Every FLINTA person knows situations of catcalling, the fear that it may go beyond verbal violence. The glance over the shoulder and the key in hand on the way home. The street is scanned for potential danger. All these are situations that we experience anew every day. It remains a futile attempt to protect ourselves, even though a safe life in the patriarchal system is impossible for FLINTA people.
