Open Anarchist Networking Hamburg
Thu. 14:00
Introduction and Networking
German
Description
The Re:fuse congress starts with a networking event specifically aimed at anarchists from Hamburg and the northern German region. It does not matter whether you are organized or unorganized – the focus is on an open exchange in Hamburg (OAV) and the development of common concepts. In times of social and political upheaval, it is more important than ever to strengthen local structures and build resistance networks.
Under the guidance of the open anarchist networking, we will together consider how we can better consolidate our strengths and connect in the long term in Northern Germany. It is not only about exchanging existing ideas but also about developing new approaches to intensify our struggles for freedom and justice.
We aim to collaboratively develop strategies on how we can coordinate our actions and projects to counter state repression, capitalist exploitation, and authoritarian structures. The goal is to establish a strong, solidary network in the region based on a common foundation, capable of responding quickly and decisively to political challenges.
Networking for Affected Individuals: Racism and/or Antisemitism
Nui
Fri. 10:30
Open space for networking among affected individuals
German
Description
This space is for networking and open exchange for people affected by racism and/or antisemitism. We invite people experiencing various forms of structural violence related to racism and/or antisemitism, including, but not limited to, anti-Black racism, Gadje racism, anti-Kurdish racism, antisemitism, anti-Muslim racism, anti-Palestinian racism, anti-Asian racism, and anti-Slavic racism (not an exhaustive list).
If you believe you are affected, you are welcome!
How/Whether to Collaborate with (Authoritarian) Communists?
Timo and tba
Fri. 10:30
Input with discussion and subsequent exchange
German
Description
No way, they are too Red for me! Absolutely not with the commies! Many of us have likely heard these phrases or perhaps even said them ourselves. But is it right to give a blanket rejection to communists? Does a zero-tolerance stance help us? Is collaboration in certain areas politically sensible or even necessary? In this networking slot, there will be an input with some basic information and definitions regarding authoritarianism, its relation to communists, and a brief debate between a communist and an anarchist. You are warmly invited to participate in the discussion so we can collectively explore the conclusions we can draw on this topic.
Anti-Militarism Networking
TBA
Sat. 18:00
Guided networking
German
Description
How do we want to respond to calls for arms deliveries? How do we react to the rising fears in the population regarding open international conflicts? How do we make it clear that it is not worthwhile for any state to die at the front? These are the questions the Zimmerwald Committee, an organization composed of various leftist groups and currents, is addressing. They are organizing a networking event to exchange and discuss anti-militarist arguments and strategies against the growing voices of the arms lobby and bourgeois parties in times of increasing warmongering and rearmament. Joint organizational possibilities and struggles will also be explored.
Networking for Affected Individuals: Ableism
Kettu
Sat. 18:00
Space for exchange among affected individuals
German
Description
In the left and anarchist scene, we advocate for justice, solidarity, and emancipation. However, ableist structures are often present in our spaces. People with disabilities, chronic (including mental) illnesses, and neurodivergences frequently face barriers – whether due to inadequate accessibility in leftist free spaces, a lack of awareness of our needs, or the feeling that our voices and experiences are not sufficiently valued.
This networking is exclusively for people affected by ableism. Here, we create a protected space to share our experiences in the left and anarchist scene and discuss the specific challenges we face. We want to collectively discuss how we can improve our approach to issues surrounding disability and inclusion in our movements.
Networking on Strategic Wage Labor
Perspective Self-Management
Sat. 18:00
Networking
German
Description
Following the lecture and discussion on strategic wage labor, this networking event offers a space for interested and already active individuals. Guided by the organization "Perspective Self-Management" from Berlin, we invite everyone to join the debate on shaping and implementing collective strategies for wage labor. A focused exchange can take place at a general level or based on concrete examples.
Networking & Exchange Regarding Squatting
An Anarchist Group
Fr. 18:00
Discussion and Networking
German
Description
Discussion round: Are squats still a meaningful form of action today?
In times of skyrocketing rents, gentrification, and housing shortages, the question arises as to which forms of resistance against these developments are effective today. Are squats still a meaningful and effective form of action? If so, in what form? Or do we need other urban struggle approaches to stop the neoliberal transformation of our cities?
We want to engage with these and other questions in this discussion round. A group of activists will present their current projects to provide insights into the practice of squatting and share their experiences and challenges related to this form of action. They will guide the discussion and offer a space for networking and knowledge exchange.
Anarchist Youth Work
Students' Syndicate Berlin
Fr. 18:00
Networking
German
Description
The Students' Syndicate Berlin invites all interested individuals to a networking meeting focused on the design and improvement of youth work. In an open environment, we want to share our experiences, challenges, and ideas to actively shape youth work as an anarchist movement.
This meeting offers the opportunity to learn from each other and develop new perspectives. Whether you are already active in youth work or simply interested in advancing the topics of youth, education, and organization – you are in the right place! Together, we want to develop strategies to bring the needs and concerns of young people more into focus and to promote inclusive, self-managed youth work.

No Revolution Without Climate Justice - No Climate Justice Without Revolution
Payal Parekh and Hanna Poddig
Fri. 14:30
Lecture
German
Description
That we are already in the climate crisis is now known to everyone. Nevertheless, many still seem unaware of what kind of world we are heading towards in the next few decades, or it is consciously suppressed in a vague hope for a great revolution. Others have lost hope for a liberated society in light of the urgency and are throwing all emancipatory values overboard in the fight for more climate protection. How do we deal with the dilemma that, given the situation, we seemingly have no time to fight for a fully liberated society, while it seems increasingly unrealistic to achieve a good life for all in a world beyond tipping points? Two inputs from different perspectives to start the discussion.
Anarchy is Commoning (and Saves the Climate)
Friederike Habermann (Commons Institute)
Sat. 10:30
Lecture
German
Description
The paths proposed by the Network Economic Transformation (NOW NET) can be summarized as "Dismantle the market, expand democracy, build commons." Since neither climate salvation nor a good life for all is possible within the market, we need to replace it wherever possible—not with new structures (such as a new monetary system or central planned economy), but through radical democracy. This is nothing less than anarchy in the best sense, because anarchy in the best sense is commoning.
Anarchist Strategies in the Fight for Climate Justice
Turbo Climate Fight Group Kiel, Gemeinsam Kämpfen / IDK, Disrupt, HambiBleibt / Global South United, Solidarity Climate Aid
Sat. 14:30
Panel Discussion
German
Description
The climate justice movement is in crisis: for the past 15 years (and beyond), activists have tried to fight for a climate-just world through demonstrations, sabotage, camps, blockades, and mass actions; today we seem further from our goal than ever before. The strategies and underlying analyses are varied, leading to some actions contradicting each other, not building on one another, or going unnoticed. On the panel, anarchists who are active in different structures will discuss how they perceive their climate activism, what the climate and anarchist movements can learn from each other, and where they locate their strategies between direct intervention, discourse shift, and building counter-power.
Anarchist and leftist perspectives on the labor turn in the climate justice movement.
We are traveling together and L.E.A. - left ecological association
Sun. 10:30
Lecture
German
Description
In the search for new strategies, there is an increasing discussion within the climate movement about the so-called labor turn. The idea is to think of climate struggles in conjunction with labor struggles, as the actual power to transform environmentally harmful companies (and also to question the ownership structures) lies with the people who work there. We want to hear from activists at L.E.A and anarchists involved in #wirfahrenzusammen about whether and how this works, what the pitfalls are, and where they see further possibilities.

Peter
Fri. 14:30
Lecture
German
Description

Out of the Scene - Into the Class
Die Plattform, Sauerkrautfabrik Harburg, Bergfidel Solidarisch, Perspektive Selbstverwaltung, FAU, ASS
Sat. 10:30
Panel Discussion
German
Description
To fight for a liberated society, we must understand ourselves as part of society. In recent years, we have seen efforts in the anarchist movement to detach ourselves from the subcultural anarchist scene and organize with people from neighborhoods, workplaces, and schools. On the panel, we want to discuss how it can work for us to move "out of the scene" and "into the class," what challenges this brings, and how we can organize with our fellow humans on equal terms.
Strategic Wage Labor - Possible Future in Labor Struggle?
Jenni, Februar (Perspektive Selbstverwaltung - especifistic, anarcho-communist group in development from Berlin)
Sat. 14:30
Panel Discussion
German
Description
Class struggle - but how?! Together with the panel guests, Perspektive Selbstverwaltung discusses strategic wage labor as an approach to finally take the offensive in the workplace! The radical left is bringing class struggle back into focus - but concrete action perspectives are lacking. While almost all of us have to engage in wage labor sooner or later, most locate their political practice in their free time. But our everyday life is political - and if we want to achieve an actionable position in the context of exploitation, we must dare to approach the individualized choice of workplace collectively and strategically. Various perspectives and personal experiences will be shared and discussed. How can this strategy help a class-struggle left in the context of workplace struggles? What advantages and difficulties are associated with it? Following this, an extended exchange in small groups is planned.
Anarchist Union Work
an anarchist active in a trade union, Gabriel Kuhn, FAU
Sun. 10:30
Panel Discussion
German
Description
Anarchism has emerged within the workers' movement and unions and has long shaped them. Today, we anarchists face the task of rebuilding a combative workers' movement. On the panel, we want to discuss with which approaches and which unions this can succeed. Which paths are promising and which lead to dead ends? Which approaches can complement each other usefully and which contradict each other?

[Mask Requirement] Ableism and the Anarchist Scene
Kettu
Sat. 10:30
Lecture
German
Description
Ableism is a form of discrimination and oppression that affects us all and is rife with prejudices and misinformation, yet few know about it. In this lecture, we aim to clarify what ableism is, what it can look like, and how much the anarchist scene is affected by it.

Jay Hammes, Rufus (Awarenessteam Lützerath), Nui (ATG³ - Anarchistische Transformative Gerechtigkeits Gruppe Göttingen), Gürsel Yıldırım
Sat. 14:30
Panel Discussion
German
Description

How can those affected by violence defend themselves?
What can perpetrators do?
What might migrant self-defense look like?
How can women, lesbians, inter-, non-binary, agender, and trans people organize together?
And what role must cis men take?
Are perpetrator outings and revenge legitimate and strategically sensible means?

The Revolution of Êzîdi Women - Reconstruction and Self-Determination in Şengal
Birthe Witthöft, (Gemeinsam Kämpfen) Sabriye Savgat, (SMJÊ – Siwana Meclisên Jinên Êzidi – Umbrella Organization of Êzîdi Women's Councils)
Sat. 10:30
Lecture
German
Description
Şengal is located in northern Iraq and is one of the main settlement areas of the Êzîdis. In 2014, the self-proclaimed ISIS began a genocide-feminicide against the Êzîdis—many people were massacred, enslaved, and a large number were forced to flee. Today, there is self-administration in the region and its own military self-defense units. Yet the people cannot live in peace: time and again, this unyielding will for self-determination is used by the Turkish and Iraqi states, as well as the Autonomous Region of Kurdistan in Iraq, as a reason for military attacks. A women's delegation from GK and SMJE visited Şengal to meet representatives from all sectors and gain an understanding of the situation. What self-defense structures have women built at all levels? What are their dreams and demands? The speakers will report on the self-administration in Şengal and its significance, particularly highlighting the perspectives of women.
International Solidarity: Who Is Solidarity with Whom and for What?
Gabriel Kuhn
Sat. 14:30
Lecture
German
Description
"International Solidarity" has always been an important slogan within the left. But what does it mean concretely? Who is solidarity with whom? What does corresponding political practice look like? What are the common goals? Using a history of international solidarity from an anarchist perspective, this lecture will raise these questions and encourage discussions about internationalist politics today.
Refusal to Fight in Israel, and the Influence of BIPOC on the Discourse
Or (New Profile)
Sun. 10:30
Lecture
English
Description
We all know how the media tends to twist reality to suit their own interests. In this talk, I will attempt (within the limited time compared to the very wide subject) to provide a broader, complex view on the layers of operations and resistance. In this specific talk, we will not be able to go deep into the everyday life of occupation and the powers benefiting from it.
